Are my mushrooms ready to harvest?
If the mushrooms are similar in size and appearance to the images you see in the instructions, then we would recommend harvesting. It is always better to harvest a little early than late.
If you notice the mushroom's colour fading or any yellowing on the edges, harvest them immediately.
How much can I expect to yield from a Grow Kit?
Most varieties yield will be between 1kg-1.5kg over 2-3 crops, with Oysters being the most productive. Shiitake will only yield between 500-750g in one crop that is harvested over the period of a few days as the mushrooms mature individually.
Does a Grow Kit have to be used right away?
Yes, we recommend starting the process as soon as possible. The Grow Kit is a living thing and cannot be left in the box without oxygen for more than a week.
If you need to delay growing your mushrooms, the box can be stored in the fridge until you are ready.
Can my delivery be scheduled for a specific date?
Yes, please send us an email after you have placed the order and we will schedule the delivery for you.
Why is my Grow Kit is not sprouting?
Grow kits can sprout at different times depending on the time of year or even the variety. The timeframes we give are a rough guide only.
If more time than the suggested amount has passed, or the Grow Kit looks significantly different than when it arrived, please add a photo below and we will be happy to help.
Mushrooms are sprouting all over bag, can I make extra cuts?
We do not recommend making extra cuts in the bag. It is normal for sprouts to pop up where there are air pockets in the bag, these will die off as the main cluster takes over.
Making extra cuts will not lead to additional yield and will greatly reduce your chances at future crops from the bag.

We ship orders the next business day using NZ Post. If there is an unforeseen delay, we will contact you as soon as possible.
Non-rural addresses take 1-2 working days.
Rural addresses take 2-3 working days.
A tracking email will be sent automatically when the courier collects your order.
My order has arrived damaged!
Please email a photo of the damage.
We will organise a replacement right away and try our best to help you salvage what you have already received.
